Property Accountant

Property Accountant Primaris REIT is currently hiring a dedicated and enthusiastic Property Accountant to join the team at our Halifax Shopping Centre in Halifax, ON. Vacancy Status: New Role As the Property Accountant, you will provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients and provide efficient and accurate accounting of a retail real estate portfolio owned by Primaris. Your communication skills and positive attitude will contribute to the success of our team. Your main organizational task will be to provide timely and accurate reporting and budgeting by: Monthly reporting, including month-end closes, actual to budget variance analysis, GST & QST returns, bank reconciliations, etc. Prepare quarter-end audit packages and liaise with auditors Draft annual financial statements and cost statements Prepare annual tenant operating cost, CAM recoveries and realty tax billings Prepare operating and capital budgets Prepare quarterly re-forecasts Assist with the integration of new property acquisitions as required Other duties as assigned Requirements: To excel in this role, we are looking for candidates who are results driven, reliable, and flexible. Compensation: At Primaris, we believe in rewarding talent with competitive wages and total compensation package. The Property Accountant is responsible for the accurate accounting of a retail real estate portfolio, including monthly reporting, budgeting, and tax returns. Key tasks include preparing audit packages, annual financial statements, and managing tenant operating cost recoveries.

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business and be pursuing or hold a professional accounting designation. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, while experience with Yardi and bilingualism in French and English are considered assets.
