Slitting Machine Operator | Continental Shifts | Greater Hamilton Area Project XIII Inc. is partnering with a well-established manufacturer in the Greater Hamilton Area to find an experienced Slitting Machine Operator to join their production team. The Role You'll set up, operate, and monitor specialized slitting/converting equipment, processing raw materials to customer and production specifications. Working closely with the production team, you'll help keep operations safe and efficient while hitting quality and productivity targets on a continental rotating shift schedule (12-hour shifts). What You'll Do Set up and operate automated and manual production equipment Read and interpret production schedules, specifications, and work orders Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot minor mechanical/operational issues Verify product dimensions and quality using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers) Coordinate material flow to minimize downtime and keep production running smoothly Safely operate material handling equipment, including overhead cranes where required Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and waste reduction What You Bring 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial production environment Hands-on experience operating slitting, converting, roll processing, or similar equipment Forklift and/or overhead crane experience (certification an asset) Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Comfort with precision measuring tools and reading technical drawings/work orders Exposure to Lean Manufacturing / 5S principles is a plus Basic computer skills and experience with production systems A sharp eye for detail and pride in producing high-quality work Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting The Environment Modern manufacturing facility Continental rotating shifts (12-hour shifts) PPE required at all times Physically active role — standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, and repetitive movement A genuine safety-first culture built on teamwork and continuous improvement Ready for your next move?
