Job Code: 26621 Status: Part Time Location: Community Locations Union: OPSEU 4104 Paramedical Wage: $32.48 - $35.78 Posting Period August 25, 2026 - August 31, 2026 Under the direction of the Service Coordinator of the Community Brain Injury Services (CBIS), the Community Rehabilitation Counsellor (CRC) will be responsible for assessment and development of personal and community living skills for clients participating in the CBIS programs. The purpose of all interventions will be facilitation of the program goals of improved quality of life, increased independence, and involvement in productive activity. Skills And Qualifications Minimum 3-year University degree or Community College Diploma in Human Studies Experience working with clients with an acquired brain injury, preferred Current First aid and CPR, or willingness to obtain R.R.P. certification (Canadian Association of Rehabilitation Personnel: Registered Rehabilitation Professional), and NVCI certificates preferred. Position Responsibilities Participates in an ongoing comprehensive assessment of clients' personal and community living skills, as part of a team, and according to roles identified by clients Plans, implements and evaluates strategies to assist with the development of clients' personal and community living skills, in conjunction with the team and according to program guidelines. Personal and community living skills will include such areas as hygiene and safety, assistance with taking medications, care of environment, meal planning and preparation, planning and problem solving, academic skills, pre-vocational skills, money management, leisure and recreation, social skills, and brain injury education Supports and reinforces vocational skills such as preparing for, securing and maintaining employment. The Community Rehabilitation Counsellor assesses and develops personal and community living skills for clients with brain injuries to increase independence and quality of life. Responsibilities include implementing strategies for daily living, supporting vocational skills, and documenting interventions in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Candidates must have a minimum 3-year university degree or community college diploma in Human Studies. Experience with acquired brain injury and certifications in First Aid, CPR, R.R.P., or NVCI are preferred.
