Job Code: 27766 Status: Full-Time Location: Kingston, ON Union: OPSEU 4104 Paramedical Wage: $47.20 - $54.81 Posting Period: October 8, 2026 - October 14, 2026 The Occupational Therapist under the general direction of the Community Team Manager will work as part of an inter-professional regional specialty Seniors Mental Health Behaviour Support Services (SMH BSS) team. The role of the Occupational Therapist provides assessment and consultation services as part of the full spectrum of Seniors Mental Health Behavioural Support Services in the SE LHIN. The OT is responsible for functional assessment, non-pharmacological treatment recommendations and short-term follow up with the goal of enhancing the quality of life of older persons with complex cognitive mental health issues and/or responsive behaviours living in the designated geographical area. The OT-SMH BSS collaborates with interdisciplinary team members, clients and their care partners, other care providers and community partners to optimize the client’s function in their preferred living environment. The OT-SMH BSS participates in profession-specific and inter-professional activities that are person and family centered, contribute to quality and safety and operational efficiency, while promoting professional and program development. This specialty OT service is accessed when occupational performance issues are related to a person’s mental health issue or responsive behaviours The OT-SMH BSS is an integrated team member of the SMH-BSS, with consultation services available on request to Geriatric Mental Health Outreach (LL&G). The role requires at least three years of relevant older-adult or seniors mental health experience and three years in community practice or equivalent specialized education and independent community experience.
