Job Code: 27113 Status: Temporary Prorated (up to 15 months) Location: Providence Manor Union: LiUNA Wage: $29.96 - $31.09 Posting Period: September 16, 2026 - September 22, 2026 Providence Manor is a 243-bed long-term care home located in downtown Kingston. The home provides care for residents who have stable medical conditions, but require 24-hour nursing care. The Personal Support Worker (PSW), under the direction of the Assistant Director of Care, Charge RN, RN or RPN, is the primary front-line monitor of resident well- being and reports any changes in resident status or concerns to the registered nursing staff. The PSW assists in the delivery of high-quality, person-centered care on assigned Resident Home Areas. Duties are discharged in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values of Providence Care Centre, the Resident’s Bill of Rights, and the requirements of-the Fixing Long Term Care Act and Regulations. The PSW delivers basic nursing and hygiene care for residents and assists them with activities of daily living, based on assessed needs and care-plan requirements Skills And Qualifications Required Successful completion of a Personal Support Worker Diploma/Certificate Program from an accredited educational institution Prior working or practicum experience in a long-term care home or community support services program, preferred Successful completion of Gentle Persuasive Approach and similar programs, preferred Prior work experience and training in dementia care and palliative care, preferred CPR Basic Rescuer and first-aid certification, preferred Position Responsibilities The PSW will perform only those acts for which she or he has been properly trained. Takes direction from Charge RN, RN or RPN regarding priority-setting and the delivery of care. Familiarizes self with the care plan of residents to whom she/he is assigned to provide care. Follows a consistent approach when interacting with residents who may exhibit difficult behaviours. Provides direct-care for residents as outlined in the written care plan or as requested by the resident. Direct care encompasses but is not limited to: assistance with activities of daily living; exercise, positioning and ambulation; bowel and bladder care; collection of specimens; any other care required to ensure resident safety and comfort Provides, removes and cleans bedpan and or urinal at regular intervals and upon resident’s request. Assists resident to and from bathroom and monitors as required. Requirements

Candidates must have a Personal Support Worker Diploma or Certificate from an accredited institution. Experience in long-term care, dementia care, palliative care, and certifications in GPA and CPR/First Aid are preferred.
