The Opportunity We are currently looking to connect with an experienced Overnight Pet Sitter to provide services as an Independent Contractor with Pup & Co. This opportunity is best suited to someone who already has professional experience in pet sitting, dog walking, veterinary care, dog daycare/kennel environments, training, or another hands-on animal care setting. It may also be an excellent fit for someone with a flexible or remote professional schedule who is looking to take on additional pet care bookings. Overnight bookings take place in our clients’ homes and can range from shorter stays to multi-day bookings, including weekends and holidays. What We're Looking For Our ideal contractor is someone who: Has professional, hands-on experience caring for dogs and/or other companion animals Is confident reading canine body language and managing different temperaments Demonstrates excellent judgement, reliability and communication Is comfortable providing services independently in clients’ homes Has daytime flexibility for overnight bookings, including some weekends and holidays Is comfortable committing to bookings scheduled well in advance, including peak holiday periods Has reliable transportation and a valid G-class driver’s licence Is comfortable following individual pet care routines and established safety requirements Takes professionalism, confidentiality and respect for clients’ homes seriously Can provide thoughtful, detailed updates to pet parents throughout a booking Providing Care With Pup & Co. Depending on the booking, services may include: Staying overnight in a client’s home Feeding and refreshing water Walks, bathroom breaks and enrichment Administering routine medications when applicable and within the contractor’s comfort and experience Maintaining established household and pet routines Providing client updates throughout the booking Monitoring pets for changes in behaviour, appetite or wellbeing Maintaining a clean and respectful environment while providing services Above all, we’re looking for people who understand that excellent pet care is about more than completing a checklist. Our clients trust us with their pets, their homes and their peace of mind. Independent Contractor Relationship This is an independent contractor opportunity and not an employment position. Contractors determine their own availability and may accept or decline booking opportunities offered to them. The volume and frequency of available bookings vary based on client demand, location, contractor availability and service needs. No minimum number of bookings or guaranteed hours are offered. Contractors are responsible for their own tax obligations and other responsibilities associated with self-employment. Requirements Applicants must: Be at least 18 years of age Hold a valid G-class driver’s licence and have access to a reliable vehicle Have relevant professional animal-care experience Be willing to complete Pup & Co.’s screening and onboarding process Be able to provide a satisfactory police record check Maintain or obtain current Pet First Aid certification in accordance with Pup & Co.’s requirements Be comfortable travelling throughout the service area for accepted bookings Interested?
