This full-time, diverse position at PureChem Services, the production chemical division of CES Energy Solutions, is located in Nisku, Alberta. The Laboratory Technician is responsible for various detail-oriented duties in the laboratory, and reports directly to the Laboratory Manager. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Intake and preparation of field samples for various analyses. Bench testing of field samples. Analytical testing with equipment to include ICP / IC / Karl Fischer/ pH / density meter / etc. Concise reporting of results as well as managing the database where results are stored. Development of new lab processes and troubleshooting of existing procedures. Making and testing batches of new and existing products. Research and development of new products. Field testing and support. Other duties as required. Necessary qualifications: Post-secondary technical training in a science-related field. Relevant industry or related experience may be considered in place of formal training. Required skillset: Confidence and capability in operating assorted analytical equipment with minimal supervision. Ability to commission laboratory equipment as well as develop and troubleshoot test methods. Excellent writing and communication skills, both for internal and client correspondence. High degree of computer literacy and ability to quickly master new types of computer software. Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Strong statistical analytical skills.
