Design Team Member, Toronto Q4 Architects is a progressive, award-winning architectural practice committed to pursuing the highest in design standards. While our primary focus is residential, we have an extensive portfolio of community design covering residential, commercial, and institutional building typologies that typically make up great neighbourhoods. Q4 Architects is committed to the principles of environmental sustainability and stewardship, and to design and development that promote wellbeing for individuals, communities and our environment. We are looking to expand our team and are seeking a self-starting, passionate, and enthusiastic Design Team Member to join our Toronto office. The successful candidate will have relevant architectural experience with Canadian low-rise, wood-frame construction. Strong proficiency with Revit and a working knowledge of AutoCAD is necessary for success in this role. This position will be based in Toronto. Qualifications include: Architectural Technician/Technology Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Architecture from a post-secondary institution. Commitment to design and technical excellence as demonstrated through your work and ideas. Advanced skills in Revit, BIM methodologies, and a working knowledge of AutoCAD. Intermediate skills in Adobe Suite, MS Office Suite, and Rendering (V-Ray/Lumion). Experience using Newforma is an asset. Minimum of 2 years experience, working in Canada, in architectural design & construction documents. Understanding of Ontario Building Code and Ontario Zoning By-Law Amendment (ZBA) standards & requirements. The development of documentation packages for: design, construction, and contract administration. Demonstrate high initiative and be self-motivated Collaborating with team members in working on large scale / multiple projects. Portfolio must demonstrate Experience with low-rise housing and wood-frame construction (OBC Part-9). Duties include: Preparing & producing documents for: design, BIM, construction & contract administration. Coordinating with a team in preparing plans, details & schedules. Developing and documenting best practice construction details. Reviewing drawings to ensure compliance with various stakeholders. Reviewing and documenting BIM data. Technical Skills: Revit A successful candidate will be an proficient Revit user with the ability to independently deliver Construction Documents within a BIM workflow. AutoCAD While the majority of projects will be in Revit, a successful candidate must comfortable with using AutoCAD and completing CDs and Construction Administration activities in CAD. Education: College Diploma in Architectural Technology and/or Bachelor of Architecture (or equivalent). Salary is based on experience. Q4 Architects is an equal opportunity employer.
