Residential Labourer Our residential construction division at Tomlinson Infrastructure is looking for a skilled labourer. This candidate will work under the supervision of a foreman setting grades, checking elevations, dumping trucks, working with heavy equipment, and have the opportunity to run small equipment on the jobsite. Location: Ottawa, ON Vacancy: Replacement DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability to read construction drawings, pull information to set proper grades. Proficient with the operating of a rotating laser level and be able to work with GPS would be an asset Ability to read plans and mathematically inclined to accurately complete many functions of the job Installation of stakes as required for layout purposes Measures distances from reference points to locate boundaries of construction site Ability to work in and implement safe work practices and contribute to a safe work environment Have an understanding of the issues involving ground disturbances Ability to work in and implement safe work practices and contribute to safe work environment. Understanding of fine grading Work as a team with other crew members on daily activities of the jobsite. Ability to grade basements to USF Positive and respectful attitude Attention to detail Experience working on construction sites is considered an asset Ability to lift heavy loads WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able Standing for extended periods of time, bending, crouching, kneeling Work on a construction site. Repetitive tasks Lifting heavy objects in construction of hardscapes. Long hours required, night and weekend work required. Exposure to all elements – snow, cold, rain, heat etc COMPENSATION INFORMATION: The expected compensation range for this position is $26.00 - $36.00 per hour. Placement within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience and will be per the collective agreement.
