Senior Accountant The Senior Accountant role responsible for assisting in the timely preparation of periodic financial statements, participating in the analysis of financial information, participating in the financial forecasting process, ensuring proper internal controls are adhered to, and participating in developing or enhancing accounting processes and policies. Location: 100 Citigate Drive, Ottawa, ON Vacancy Type: Replacement DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan, set up and administer accounting systems and prepare financial information Prepare financial analysis including financial statement, account & job cost analysis Develop or enhance tools to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for use in managing day to day operations Develop and maintain reporting & internal control procedures (i.e. inventory counts, reconciliations, purchase order commitments, etc.) Support annual external audit (i.e. working papers, reconciliations, other support as requested) Assist in regular compliance matters as required May coach and train other accountants or administrative clerks REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of finance, accounting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications. SAP would be an asset. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections. Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule. CPA designation is preferred, and candidates in the final stages of their designation will be considered. WORKING CONDITIONS Standard office environment. Overtime hours may be required during month-end or year-end processing. COMPENSATION INFORMATION: The expected salary range for this position is $70,000 - $110,000. Placement within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience.
