Unposting Date 2026-10-21 11:59 PM Function Using voice recognition technology, you will provide real-time captioning for deaf or hard of hearing viewers in line with CBC/Radio-Canada standards and policies. Description Of Duties Use voice recognition software to paraphrase, summarize and revoice the audio content of programs or program segments in real time. Switch captioning sources for live presentation. Report any issues with caption presentation to broadcast and technical maintenance staff. Create and maintain a personal voice profile within the voice recognition software. Adapt dialogue to the language of broadcast in line with closed-captioning standards. Maintain a technical log of issues and system performance. Share technical expertise and best practices with other respeakers daily. Assist in the development and optimization of voice recognition tools. Maintain and update the user lexicon and dictionary. Research programs or program segments scheduled for real-time captioning to ensure accuracy. Train other employees on respeaking duties and techniques, providing them with all relevant information. Perform captioner duties. Carry out all other related tasks as required. This is an on call position. This role requires full-time on-site presence. Qualifications Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Three (3) years’ relevant experience, including at least two (2) in a captioning role. Skills Solid command of French (working language). Knowledge of the other official language (English) is an asset. Strong computer proficiency. Wide general knowledge. Knowledge of current events.
