Senior Guidewire Developer (ClaimCenter / ContactCenter) Location: Toronto, Montreal or St.John's (Hybrid) Type: Full-Time Language: English About the Role We are seeking a Senior Guidewire Developer specializing in ClaimCenter and ContactCenter (with general InsuranceSuite exposure, including PolicyCenter) to join a dynamic software engineering team. In this role, you will lead the integration, configuration, and continuous evolution of core insurance systems within a scaled Agile environment. If you bring deep expertise in Guidewire architecture, Java backend development, and complex enterprise integrations, this is an exceptional opportunity to drive high-impact digital transformation. What You’ll Do Here Guidewire Core Development: Design, configure, and integrate Guidewire ClaimCenter, ContactCenter, and related InsuranceSuite modules to meet business requirements. Full Lifecycle Engineering: Build, test, debug, and document complex software components following strict SDLC and software engineering best practices. Production Support & Optimization: Resolve L3 production issues, troubleshoot system bottlenecks, and optimize application performance. System Integration: Design and deploy REST/SOAP APIs and microservices connecting Guidewire with internal database systems and messaging queues. Agile Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional architecture, security, and business teams to ensure seamless delivery and operational handover. What You Bring to the Table Guidewire & Technical Must-Haves: Guidewire Specialization: Proven hands-on experience in Guidewire integration and configuration, specifically with ContactCenter and ClaimCenter (exposure to PolicyCenter is a strong asset). Java Mastery: 8+ years of backend engineering using Java 8+, Spring frameworks, Spring Boot, JDBC, and Hibernate. API & Architecture: Strong background in microservices, REST/SOAP web services, SOA, and Object-Oriented Analysis & Design (OOAD). Data Layer: Experience with relational databases (Oracle 12+, PL/SQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Elasticsearch). Ecosystem & Tooling: Familiarity with messaging tools (Kafka, RabbitMQ), container platforms (OpenShift), and CI/CD tools (GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, JIRA). Background & Soft Skills: Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience. Strong experience operating within scaled Agile/Scrum environments. Excellent technical communication skills in English (written and spoken).
