Test Hardware Engineer Position Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated Test Hardware Engineer to take ownership of the physical hardware of our optoelectronics wafer test station, including motion systems, probing, optical mounts, cabling, and fixtures. This is a hands-on role spanning design, build, integration, and debugging. Responsibilities Design fixtures, chucks, probe mounts, and fiber mounts in CAD (e.g., SolidWorks), and maintain the associated drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and inventory records. Integrate motion stages (e.g., Zaber), probes, detectors, and thermal control systems into the test station. Build and route cabling, and diagnose and resolve grounding, shielding, and electrical noise issues. Source components and manage relationships with vendors and machine shops, including the purchase order process. Improve wafer handling, measurement repeatability, and throughput as wafer sizes and production volumes increase. Qualifications Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Engineering Physics, with 1–3 years of relevant industry experience; a graduate degree is considered an asset. Proficiency in 3D CAD and the preparation of engineering drawings (SolidWorks preferred). Hands-on experience with wiring and electrical test equipment, including multimeters and oscilloscopes. Assets: Experience with precision motion or opto-mechanical systems, wafer probers, fiber alignment, thermal management, and cleanroom or ESD practices. Ranovus is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and lived experiences, including those from equity-deserving and underrepresented communities. We are committed to an accessible recruitment process in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.
