Job summary

Our Vaughan client is a well-established law firm with a significant practice acting for banks and other financial institutions. They are seeking an experienced Real Estate & Mortgage Enforcement Lawyer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer who enjoys taking ownership of files and wants to develop expertise in sophisticated commercial financing, real estate and mortgage enforcement matters. The successful candidate will have meaningful experience in both residential and commercial real estate and will be comfortable independently managing transactions from beginning to end. The Role Your practice will include: * Independently managing commercial mortgage and financing transactions from start to finish; * Handling mortgage enforcement and Power of Sale proceedings; * Preparing and reviewing Notices of Sale and other enforcement documentation; * Coordinating the management, listing and sale of properties under Power of Sale; * Communicating directly with institutional lender clients, borrowers, real estate professionals and other counsel; and * Managing files efficiently while providing practical and responsive advice to clients. What We Are Looking For The ideal candidate will have: * A minimum of 2 years of post-call experience in an Ontario real estate practice; * Experience with commercial mortgage transactions; * Experience with mortgage enforcement and Power of Sale proceedings; * Strong drafting, organizational and communication skills; * The ability to independently manage files and priorities; and * A practical, client-focused approach to legal work.
