Job summary
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Professional to own full-cycle payroll across multiple business units with our client in the Automotive industry. This position plays a key role with the corporate office and will need strong experience to be the standalone payroll processor for a large organization. Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To Independently process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 1,000 employees across Canada and the U.S., including hourly, salaried, and bonus-eligible employees. Manage all payroll-related employee changes, including new hires, terminations, compensation changes, bonuses, and leaves. Ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with Canadian and U.S. payroll legislation, tax regulations, and company policies. Reconcile payroll data, deductions, benefits, tax remittances, and payroll-related accounts. Prepare and complete year-end payroll activities, including T4s, W-2s, ROEs, and other statutory reporting requirements. Act as the primary payroll contact for employees, management, and external agencies, resolving issues and inquiries promptly. Generate payroll reports and support audits, month-end processes, and payroll-related analysis. Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, and efficiencies. Your Strengths Include: 7+ years of full-cycle payroll experience with demonstrated ownership of payroll processing. Experience processing payroll for a workforce of 1,000+ employees across Canada and the United States. Advanced proficiency with Payworks is required. Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to work independently in a standalone payroll role with minimal supervision. PCP designation is preferred; strong Excel skills and the ability to work full-time, in-office in Calgary are required.
