Job summary
Our Calgary based client is seeking a Supervisor, Financial Reporting. A successful candidate will lead and support the financial reporting function by overseeing team performance and ensuring the timely, accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual IFRS-compliant financial reports. This role is responsible for financial statement preparation, public company reporting, internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR), audit coordination, technical accounting research, and continuous process improvement. The position works closely with internal stakeholders and external auditors to maintain compliance, strengthen reporting controls, and support evolving business and reporting requirements. Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To Supervise, coach, and review the financial reporting team to ensure accurate and timely deliverables. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual IFRS financial reports, statements, and disclosures. Support public company reporting, disclosure controls, and governance compliance requirements. Maintain and enhance ICFR processes, controls, and documentation. Coordinate audit activities and liaise with external auditors and internal stakeholders. Research technical accounting issues and document reporting conclusions. Improve reporting templates, processes, and controls to drive efficiency and consistency. Partner with cross-functional teams to support financial reporting objectives and business changes. Foster a collaborative, adaptable, and continuous improvement-focused team environment Your strengths include: CPA designation with financial reporting experience in a public company, REIT, or similar public entity. Progressive finance experience with leadership, workload management, and public reporting expertise. Strong knowledge of IFRS, public reporting, ICFR, disclosure controls, and audit requirements. Excellent technical accounting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Advanced Excel skills with experience improving reporting processes, controls, and workflows.
