RED Mountain Resort is now hiring Station Leads for the 2026/27 Winter Season. Station Leads are experienced Lift Operators who take on additional leadership responsibilities at their assigned lift station. They are responsible for organizing their team each morning, ensuring safe and efficient operations throughout the day, mentoring new staff, and maintaining clear documentation of all tasks and incidents. In addition to fulfilling all regular Lift Operator duties, Station Leads serve as the main point of contact for lift oversight, communication, and team coordination at their station. MAJOR RESPONSBILITIES * Lead by example by providing courteous, professional guest service and maintaining high safety awareness. * Organize and lead the setup and shutdown of the lift station, including signage, fencing, ramps, and equipment readiness. * Ensure adequate staffing and smooth rotation of operators between top and bottom terminals. * Provide mentorship and guidance to lift operators, ensuring tasks are completed safely and correctly. * Act as the communication link between your team and Lift Operations Management. * Monitor and report all operational issues, incidents, maintenance concerns, or staffing changes. * Maintain accurate and timely documentation of: 1. Daily lift logs and checklists 2. Maintenance concerns 3. Staffing and rotation notes 4. Weather impacts and incident reports * Ensure a clean and safe work environment around the terminal, ramps, and work areas. * Participate in emergency response or evacuation procedures when necessary. * Perform all Lift Operator duties including monitoring terminals, swinging chairs, assisting guests, and ensuring lift area readiness. KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Education * High School Diploma * Continuing education in a customer service or tourism related field would be considered an asset. Experience * Must have at least 2 seasons of experience as a Lift Operator at any Ski resort. * Additional experience in a customer service-related role would be an asset. * Knowledge of CSA Z98 and Red Mountain's lift safety procedures would be an asset. * Experience mentoring or training staff is an asset. Physical and Other Requirements * Able to lift 50 lbs. * Able to stand for extended periods of time. * Able to shovel snow. * Able to do repetitive physical tasks. * Able to work in all weather conditions. * Must be an intermediate level skier/snowboarder. * Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays. Skills and Abilities * Demonstrated leadership abilities and effective communication skills. * Strong verbal and written communication. * High attention to detail, especially in documentation and safety. * Ability to stay calm and make sound decisions under pressure. * Friendly, professional demeanor with a focus on guest service. The wage rate for this position is $22.95 per hour.
