Job Description Bilingual Customer Service Representative (ServiceOntario) Corporate Services Status: Two (2) Part-Time Contract Positions up to 7 months Work Mode: Onsite Hiring Range: $34.56 - $38.88 per hour Location and working hours: 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton Monday – Friday 8:00AM – 5:00PM Hours of Work: 25 hours per week (part-time); must be available to work various shifts within operating hours. Through Peel Region's partnership with ServiceOntario, residents can access municipal and provincial government services through a single service delivery location. Our Service Delivery team delivers front-line customer service by providing accurate information and support for a range of government programs and services. What you will do in this role: Provide customer service by delivering timely and accurate information about government programs, products, and services. Communicate service details, fees, and eligibility requirements clearly, and address customer concerns with tact and empathy. Process applications, registrations and renewals in accordance with established policies and procedures. Receive, process, and reconcile payments while ensuring accuracy and accountability. Maintain current knowledge of applicable policies, procedures, legislation, and service delivery requirements. What the role requires: Advanced proficiency in both English and French. Language proficiency will be assessed as part of the selection process. High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education experience. A minimum of two (2) years of office administration and customer service experience in a fast-paced environment. Previous ServiceOntario, municipal government, or public sector service delivery experience is considered an asset. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, and computerized customer service or reporting systems. Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check as a condition of employment. Skills/Abilities: Exceptional customer service and communication skills. Ability to interpret policies and procedures and apply them during customer interactions. Proficiency in the use of computerized service delivery systems and standard office software applications. Ability to accurately handle cash transactions and process payments. Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently with minimum supervision. Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume, in-person customer service environment.
