Job summary

About the Opportunity We're looking for an established lawyer in corporate, commercial, and/or real estate law to join us as Associate Counsel. This isn't a traditional associate role — you'd be bringing your own book of business and running it independently, while we take care of the infrastructure, admin, and overhead that usually eats into a lawyer's time. If you already work with a support person or assistant, we're happy to talk about bringing them on board too. Who We're Looking For At least 3 years practicing law in BC An established, independent practice with your own client base Experience in corporate, commercial, or real estate law (or some combination of the three) Someone who wants more time practicing law and less time on the business of running a practice How the Role Works You operate your own practice under a management fee model — full autonomy over your files and clients, backed by our firm's resources. That includes: Ongoing mentorship and support from our lawyers A collegial, close-knit office culture Legal support staff, including paralegals experienced in real estate and corporate work Access to the boardroom, kitchen, and other shared building amenities A branded web profile and custom business cards A fully equipped workstation with an adjustable chair Direct phone line, fax, internet, and Wi-Fi Photocopier, scanner, and printer access General office supplies and stationery A new computer with multiple monitors and any additional equipment you need Access to BC Online, LTSA, Unity Accounting, eConvey, and other practice software A marketing budget, scaled to your projected billings Firm infrastructure that lends credibility and support to your practice Remote work support when needed, including secure email and data access Ongoing IT support
