To make sure our guests fall in love with our venue—and keep coming back—we’re looking for energetic, outgoing team players who are ready to help us shine. In this role, you’ll do a bit of everything: serving, setting up event spaces, helping guests, and flipping rooms between functions. You’ll be a key part of making sure things run smoothly, efficiently, and with a touch of style. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE JOB Welcome to the home of awe-inspiring banquet facilities - the Renaissance Edmonton Airport Hotel! We need your energy and enthusiasm to ensure our guests fall head over heels for our venue and keep coming back for more. As a multitasking expert, you'll be busy serving, setting rooms, assisting guests, and flipping rooms like a pro. We're talking smooth operations all around! Some of your job duties include: Bring the Energy: Kick off every event with enthusiasm at pre-function briefings, ready to create memorable experiences. Set the Scene: Flawlessly arrange tables with perfect "mise en place." We’re talking pristine linens, silverware, and glassware, following the Banquet Event Order (BEO). Be the Menu Guru: Know the menu inside and out, dazzling guests with your descriptions, and assist in creating mouth-watering buffets and food stations. Serve with Flair: Time courses perfectly and make guests feel special with your smile and warm service. Mind-Reader Extraordinaire: Anticipate guest needs like a pro, and if something’s beyond your superpowers, pass it to the captain for next-level service. Keep It Sparkling: Patrol your station, topping up drinks, and keeping everything spotless. Suggest and Sell like a Pro: Tempt guests with extras like fine wines and after-dinner treats. Handle Payments: Manage guest checks smoothly and professionally when taking a carte orders. Team Player: Knock out side work, assist wherever needed, and keep the positive vibes going. Wrap It Up in Style: Help with teardown and ensure the venue is spotless for the next event. Stay Flexible: Be ready to jump in and adapt to keep everything running smoothly. WHAT YOU NEED TO BE CONSIDERED High school diploma or GED Proserve Certification Able to work with little supervision. Superior customer service skills with prior experience in the hospitality industry Able to lift heavy objects. Prior hotel experience is a strong asset
