Our client is seeking an experienced Consulting Network Engineer to join their team delivering complex infrastructure solutions across enterprise, data centre, cloud, wireless, Industrial IoT (IIoT), and Operational Technology (OT) environments. The role involves designing, deploying, troubleshooting, and supporting network solutions for clients across industries including mining, telecommunications, healthcare, government, utilities, education, research, and financial services. Location: primarily onsite in Saskatoon, with travel to client locations primarily throughout Western Canada. Responsibilities Design, configure, deploy, and troubleshoot enterprise and industrial network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless technologies, and SD-WAN. Support networking across enterprise, data centre, cloud, Industrial IoT, and OT environments. Configure and support technologies from Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, VMware, Dell, and other networking vendors. Troubleshoot complex network and application connectivity issues, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend practical solutions. Configure and support routing technologies including OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP. Conduct wireless site surveys, coverage assessments, troubleshooting, and network design using tools such as Ekahau. Support secure integration between traditional IT networks and industrial control systems, OT, and IoT infrastructure. Install, rack, cable, configure, and commission network equipment in data centres, industrial facilities, offices, and mine sites. Work directly with clients to gather requirements and clearly communicate technical issues, risks, recommendations, and solutions. Travel to client locations and comply with applicable safety, PPE, training, security, and site-access requirements. Maintain accurate project documentation, activity tracking, and time reporting. Continuously develop technical expertise through hands-on project work, training, certifications, and independent learning. Requirements 5+ years of network engineering, network administration, infrastructure consulting, or related experience. Strong knowledge of IP routing and switching, including TCP/UDP, Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, subnetting, and routing protocols. Hands-on experience with enterprise routers, switches, firewalls, wireless infrastructure, and network troubleshooting. Strong experience with Cisco technologies; exposure may include ISR/ASR, Catalyst, Nexus, Industrial Ethernet, ASA, UCS, Meraki, ISE, and Wireless LAN Controllers. Experience with Fortinet and/or Palo Alto Networks technologies. Experience with OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, RADIUS, VPN, SD-WAN, and network security. Experience with Industrial IoT, Operational Technology, industrial control systems, or industrial networking is highly desirable. Exposure to industrial protocols such as Modbus, PROFINET, CIP, and BACnet over IP is an asset. Experience with cloud networking across Azure, AWS, GCP, or Oracle Cloud is an asset. Exposure to VMware NSX, Cisco ACI, VeloCloud, Viptela, or Meraki SD-WAN is an asset. CCNA, CCNP, CWNA, Fortinet FCP/FCSS, or comparable networking certifications are considered assets. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong client-facing communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel primarily within Western Canada. Comfortable working onsite and in industrial environments, including data centres and mine sites. Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without current or future employment sponsorship. Candidates outside Saskatoon must be willing to relocate or regularly commute to the Saskatoon office.

Requirements

Cisco experience is strongly expected; Fortinet or Palo Alto experience is required, while industrial networking, cloud networking, specified certifications, and related technologies are assets.
