Quality Control Inspector RFNOW Inc. is seeking applications from motivated individuals to join our team as a Quality Control Inspector. Responsible for reviewing and evaluating Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) construction projects, including using the plan design against new build, span and drop replacements (if needed), installations, proper installation of any fiber-optic cable, splice cases and cabinets, splitters and XWDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing), underground installations (bores, vaults, and trenches) and MDU lockbox replacements. Key Responsibilities Perform construction inspections for quality control in accordance with the company’s standards. Verify that property restoration is consistent with the Company’s standard practice. Operate test equipment as needed to verify optical and RF power levels are set as designed. Document (in still image and/or video) that underground vaults and cabinets have been built and installed as planned. Prepare work orders to resolve any element in the plant that does not meet specifications. Communicate with the Project Manager or designated Supervisor regarding concerns about construction progress. Ability to work weekends as the business needs dictate. Perform emergency locates as necessary. Adhere to industry-specific local, provincial, and federal regulations, as applicable. Perform other reasonable duties as required. Qualifications & Experience Five (5) years of experience in the construction, maintenance, and repair of the outside plant (OSP) that supports fibre optic services. Working knowledge of safe construction practices used in building aerial and underground communications networks. Demonstrated problem solving and analytical thinking skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to read and interpret general system layouts from blueprints and system maps. Familiarity with computer or test equipment associated with position (ex. signal level meters, ohm meters, etc.) Valid class 5 driver's license with satisfactory driving record Work Environment Field-based in varying environmental conditions. Walking over all types of terrain in all kinds of weather.
