This position will be based in the Province of British Columbia supporting our customers. Travel maybe required repair vehicles in the Province of Alberta. The position will report to Customer Service Manager for Canada and be responsible for maximizing uptime for our bus fleet within the Western Provinces of Canada. This is a position needing a highly technical skill set with room for career growth in the company. About The Role: The successful candidate must possess a Valid Mechanics License for the Province of British Columbia to work on Buses, Cars and Trucks. The license will be a Commercial Transport Vehicle Mechanic, a Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic or a 310T Inter Provincial License. Must have own complete set of mechanic’s tools appropriate for this role. This position reports to the After Sales Customer Service Manager. Perform diagnosis and repairs of warranty or non-warranty issues. Provide customer interface and reports on field maintenance activities. Work well and communicate in a Team Environment. Perform duties as required when called upon. After hours or on Saturday or Sunday due to a failure if required. Report back to the customer and the Ride After Sales Service Manager with full knowledge of the issue and a plan to repair the vehicle. The ability to read and understand Electrical diagrams. Perform PDI Inspections on new Vehicles. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Strong communication skills Document and record all necessary information required for warranty claim processing. Work closely with Engineers locally as well as out of headquarters to document any quality related issue for root cause analysis. Initiate parts orders with the Parts Manager to ensure timely processing of orders. Work with Customer Service Manager to respond accordingly to the customer’s needs and resolve and prioritize issues appropriately. Provide daily Service reports/Parts requisitions as needed. The Field Service Technician position will provide onsite support Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. with a 30-minutes unpaid lunch period About You: Mature self-starter with the capability to influence all levels of our organization. Customer-first attitude, with high level of professionalism and integrity. Ability to establish trust and credibility. Able to operate independently with limited supervision. Strong time management and organizational skills. Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills. Troubleshoot technical issues, communicate and document solutions to non-technical parties. Capable of being a key part of the sales process by presenting after-sales solutions for potential customers. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Qualifications: 2+ years’ experience in transit and/or commercial vehicle industries. A 310-T license, Inter-Provincial or a British Columbia Certified License allowing you to work on transit buses, cars and heavy-duty trucks is required. Must have valid B or C class driving license with a Z endorsement. General knowledge of trucks, buses, automotive and/or electric vehicle systems. Hands-on experience in either electrical, mechanical or other related field service experience. Experience with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting. Demonstrated experience interacting and communicating with customers. Intermediate level understanding of MS Office applications.
