Job summary
Under the direct supervision of the Chief Engineer, the Maintenance Technician plays a key role in ensuring River Rock Casino Resort’s hotel, casino, and entertainment spaces remain safe, well‑maintained, and welcoming for guests and team members. This role supports a high‑standard hospitality environment by performing routine and preventative maintenance, responding to service requests, and upholding the Company’s policies, procedures, and safety standards. The Technician leads by example, contributes to a positive learning culture, and helps maintain a secure, comfortable, and guest‑ready property at all times. Key Accountabilities * Maintains and tests life safety systems including fire alarms, emergency power, sprinklers, and related equipment. * Performs active and preventative maintenance throughout hotel rooms, public areas, casino floor, back‑of‑house spaces, and building systems. * Fabricates repair parts and components to support timely and effective maintenance solutions. * Maintains parts and equipment inventories; anticipates needs; submits purchase order requests to ensure operational readiness. * Responds to guest room maintenance requests, supports housekeeping and front desk teams, and ensures hotel spaces remain guest‑ready. * Provides maintenance support for gaming equipment infrastructure, theatre spaces, food & beverage outlets, and high‑traffic public areas. * Communicates effectively with all operational departments to coordinate repairs, minimize downtime, and maintain service continuity. * Builds strong working relationships with guests and team members, demonstrating professionalism and hospitality. * Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety standards, building codes, and other statutory regulations. * Performs touch‑ups, full‑scale painting, and surface refinishing to maintain a clean, well‑presented appearance across guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces. * Performs other duties as assigned or directed. Education and Qualifications * Minimum 4 years of experience in maintenance including mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and DDC systems. * Power Engineering Certificate is considered an asset. * Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License * Ability to work in a fast‑paced, guest‑centric environment with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities. * Availability for non‑traditional hours including evenings, weekends, and event‑driven schedules based on operational requirements Work Environment Considerations Standing for long periods, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stretching, bending, and working in confined or elevated spaces.
