We are looking for a Controller to lead financial operations for a manufacturing organization in Brampton, Ontario. This position is responsible for overseeing reporting, budgeting, payroll, and core accounting activities while supporting sound business decisions with accurate financial insight. The successful candidate will bring strong systems knowledge, a hands-on approach to financial management, and the ability to strengthen processes in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: • Direct day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger oversight, reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close processes. • Oversight of the cost accounting process - including bill of materials, labour and overhead. • Prepare timely financial statements, management reports, and other analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making. • Lead the planning, monitoring, and refinement of budgets and forecasts to help maintain financial performance targets. • Oversee payroll administration and ensure related financial records are accurate, complete, and compliant with applicable requirements. • Manage and optimize the use of accounting software and reporting tools to improve financial visibility and efficiency. • Produce ad hoc financial analysis and customized reports for leadership using available reporting platforms and business data. • Collaborate with internal teams to align financial controls, reporting requirements, and business priorities across the organization. • Support process improvements, including financial system updates or transitions, while maintaining reporting continuity and data accuracy. Requirements: • CPA designated. • Demonstrated experience in a Controller or senior-level accounting role within manufacturing. • Cost Accounting experience. • Strong knowledge of accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal control practices. • Hands-on experience with accounting software systems and financial platforms. • Proficiency in developing reports and financial analysis. • Experience overseeing payroll processes and ensuring accuracy in related accounting and reporting activities. • Ability to prepare ad hoc financial reports, interpret business data, and present findings clearly to stakeholders. • Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
