Job summary
Our client is seeking a Financial Analyst to join their finance team in a highly analytical and business-facing role. This position offers the opportunity to support a complex organization through financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, process improvement initiatives, and strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will work closely with finance leadership and stakeholders across the organization, providing insights and recommendations that support operational and financial performance. Key Responsibilities • Manage the financial administration of assigned programs and business areas, including forecasting, cash flow management, financial reporting, and ongoing financial analysis. • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc financial reports, including variance analysis against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods. • Develop meaningful analytical commentary and recommendations to support management decision-making. • Research accounting and financial issues and provide guidance on appropriate solutions. • Investigate operational and financial challenges, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions. • Review existing processes and internal controls, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and risk management. • Support financial systems administration, reporting enhancements, and implementation of process improvements. • Participate in cross-functional projects, ensuring financial considerations and process impacts are appropriately assessed. • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization and act as a trusted finance partner. • Support the development of team members through knowledge sharing, collaboration, and mentorship. Qualifications • CPA designation or actively pursuing completion of a CPA designation. • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline. • Minimum 2 years of progressive accounting, finance, FP&A, or financial analysis experience. • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and variance analysis. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial and operational information. • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills. • Experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting tools. • Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and implement practical solutions. • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of an organization. • Self-starter with sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications • Experience working in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. • Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics GP, Power BI, SharePoint, or similar reporting and business systems. • Experience supporting projects involving process improvement, systems enhancements, or business transformation initiatives.
