About the Opportunity Our client, a well-established CPA firm, is seeking a Junior Accounting Technician to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional looking to build public practice experience in a collaborative and professional environment. The successful candidate will support client engagements with a focus on Notice to Reader (NTR) files, compilations, and corporate and personal tax preparation. This role is best suited for someone pursuing a career as an accounting technician or preparer, and the firm is not seeking a CPA student for this position. Key Responsibilities Prepare Notice to Reader (NTR) and compilation engagement files for a variety of clients Assist with the preparation of corporate tax returns and personal tax returns Perform account reconciliations and working paper preparation Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation Communicate with clients to obtain financial information and clarify documentation Assist senior staff and managers with year-end files and other client deliverables Ensure work is completed in accordance with firm standards, timelines, and applicable accounting and tax requirements Support various bookkeeping and general accounting tasks as needed Qualifications Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Not seeking a CPA student 1–2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a public practice or CPA firm environment Experience with compilation/NTR engagements and corporate and personal tax preparation is preferred Knowledge of CaseWare and tax preparation software is considered an asset Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple deadlines during busy periods Strong written and verbal communication skills Eagerness to learn and grow within a public accounting environment
