Job summary
Our client, a well-established organization within the real estate development and property management industry, is seeking a Property Accountant to join their team in Downtown Vancouver, BC. This is an onsite position, five days per week. The opportunity is an initial 3-month contract with the potential to convert permanently. The successful candidate will be responsible for full-cycle accounting across a portfolio of income-producing properties, with a particular focus on the retail asset class. This position requires previous property management accounting experience and the ability to manage a high volume of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Perform full-cycle property accounting for multiple properties, primarily within the retail asset class Prepare monthly financial statements, working papers and asset summaries Prepare annual financial statements for lender reviews as required Prepare quarterly financial statements for investor reporting Complete CAM and tax reconciliations Review financial and property reports within Yardi Voyager Investigate variances and discrepancies and assist with budget-related analysis Ensure accurate and timely completion of property-level accounting and reporting requirements Work collaboratively with internal teams while managing multiple priorities and deadlines Qualifications Previous property management accounting experience is required Experience managing the accounting for multiple properties, preferably within commercial and retail real estate Experience completing CAM and tax reconciliations Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and financial statement preparation Experience with Yardi Voyager is highly preferred Strong Microsoft Excel skills Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills Self-directed and able to work independently Positive, collaborative and eager to learn Technical Skills Yardi Voyager Microsoft Excel ASPE financial reporting experience; exposure to IFRS is an asset If you are an experienced accounting and financial professional, please submit your resume to Robert Half Management Resources today.
