Our client is a privately held real estate development company based in the inner south-west of Calgary. They are seeking a Senior Accountant for a newly created role, supporting the Controller and CFO. The ideal candidate will have substantial exposure to monthly closing processes, forecasting and budgeting, taxes, and customer billing. They will be organized and approach each issue with an analytical mindset. Responsibilities Reviews journal entries to ensure accurate coding and appropriate supporting documentation Recording GL entries and banking transactions Reconcile capital asset accounts and intercompany accounts Preparation of GST returns and management of property taxes Assist with payroll and finance aligned HR responsibilities Conducts ad hoc variance analysis (actuals vs. budget), with a focus on identifying key drivers Brings a critical and analytical mindset to all reviews and financial analysis Oversees account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy of data No direct reports, but provides guidance and oversight for the team Qualifications 3+ years' of professional accounting experience CPA preferred For any questions regarding this position, please contact Robert Half Talent Solutions at 587 332 0161.
