About the Opportunity Our client is a well-established and growing organization seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join its finance leadership team. The successful candidate will oversee core accounting operations and play an important role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, a hands-on approach, and the ability to lead and develop a small accounting team in a fast-paced environment. What You’ll Be Responsible For Lead monthly and quarterly financial close processes and ensure timely, accurate reporting. Review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting documentation. Oversee balance sheet analysis and resolution of reconciling items. Manage workflow and priorities across the accounting team to ensure reporting deadlines are consistently achieved. Oversee key accounting functions including reconciliations, accruals, allocations, and account analysis. Support internal and external audits and coordinate responses to information requests. Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and applicable financial reporting standards. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and overall efficiency. Support accounting systems, reporting tools, and process improvement initiatives. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals. Provide guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to team members. Partner with the Controller and other internal stakeholders on accounting and financial matters. What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. CPA designation strongly preferred. Approximately 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with a combination of public accounting and/or industry experience welcomed. Strong technical accounting knowledge; experience with U.S. GAAP is an asset. Previous experience leading, managing, or mentoring accounting professionals. Strong understanding of financial close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls. Experience with an ERP system; experience with Oracle or similar platforms is an asset. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with both finance and operational stakeholders. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. A hands-on leadership style and willingness to roll up your sleeves when needed.
