As a Dockmaster, you will play a vital role in managing marina logistics and welcoming visiting and member vessels during the busy summer season. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: * Receive and forward requests from Members regarding their vessel, dock, and service issues. * Assist Membership and Guests in locating and tying up in allocated slips. * Daily inspection of docks, lockers, and dry sail areas. * Routine cleaning of docks and Fleet assets. * Cleaning and maintenance of club support boats, Ideal 18 and Sonar fleets. * Assist in the completion of Capital Projects. * Other duties as specified by the Director of Fleet and Fleet Operations Manager. WHAT YOU BRING? * Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. * Highly motivated and works well with little supervision. * Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail. * Ability to work well within a team environment. * Boating experience preferred but not required. * Must effectively manage stressful situations and maintain professional composure, while effectively and calmly addressing challenges. * A Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC) is preferred, but not required. HOURS OF WORK: * This is a seasonal, * Must be able to work weekdays, weekends and public holidays, as well as various shifts (days & evenings). * Able to work at RCYC’s Island Clubhouse facility, located on the Toronto Islands. * Accessible via our private Club launch at 150 Cherry St. with free parking and accessible via public transit. * Alternate transportation option: Free water taxi service offered to and from Yonge St. and Queens Quay. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This job requires prolonged periods of standing and walking outside throughout the Island. Lifting and carrying objects up to 50 pounds, as well as frequent bending, are also required.
