Job Summary & Requirements Position Summary: To assist with facilitating patient care and effective operations in the patient care area. Education/Experience: Community College Diploma in a related health care or patient care discipline Dialysis Unit Assistant Certificate course required 1 year experience in inventory control in a health care setting preferred Experience or exposure to a dialysis unit is preferred Good interpersonal skills in communicating with patients, team and the public Position Responsibilities: Maintain organized stock room and put away supplies from boxes (Wellington location) Assist patient service clerk with ordering supplies as required (Wellington location) Assisting patients to appropriate chairs and to waiting room Stringing and stripping of dialysis machines Assists in weighing patients and informing the weight to the nurse Putting the blood pressure cuff on patients Assists in obtaining blankets, pillows, ice and other items to enhance patient comfort Cleansing of reusable supplies Emptying of partially used concentrate and bicarbonate containers Preparation of patient treatment supplies for machines/ getting supplies ready at the bedside for the nurse Moving machines for acutes in the building and setting up those machines Checking the chlorine on the RO for the acute patients Checking the chlorine in the water room first thing in the morning Assisting with a Hoyer lifts or bedpans if needed as well as transferring patients. Requirements

Requires a Community College Diploma in a health care discipline and a Dialysis Unit Assistant Certificate. Experience in healthcare inventory control or exposure to a dialysis unit is preferred.
