Job Summary & Requirements Rotary Inpatient is an Alternate Health Facility primarily caring for Alternate Level of Care (ALC) patients, who no longer require the same level of acute care in hospital. As the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) you are a professional caregiver who is responsible and accountable for providing quality patient care within a delivery model in accordance with the organizational philosophy, policies and standards of care of RVH, the College of Nurses (CNO), and all relevant legislation. In this role you will assess, plan, coordinate and manage care of select Alternate Level of Care (ALC) patients and families in conjunction with an interdisciplinary team and according to hospital and department policies and procedures. As a qualified candidate you will have the following job requirements: Registered Practical Nursing Diploma or equivalent education to practice at full scope Completion of recognized Medication Administration Course Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario Current BCLS Sound knowledge of nursing process and responsibilities of profession Membership in professional association specific to nursing service area Functions independently within scope of practice Computer literacy in current software applications You will be a great fit for this position if you have: Sound problem solving, communications (oral and written), conflict resolution and decision making skills Excellent organizational skills Demonstrated commitment to the professional growth and development of self and others Demonstrated commitment to the concepts of Continuous Quality Improvement and Customer Service Ability to learn about, from and with other members of the patient care team to foster a strong interprofessional model of care The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Requirements
Candidates must hold a Registered Practical Nursing Diploma, a current CNO registration, and a BCLS certificate. A recognized Medication Administration Course and membership in a professional nursing association are also required.
