Job Summary & Requirements Royal Victoria Reginal Health Centre (RVH) serves the community of Simcoe County and provides highly specialized services including but not limited to: Stroke, Cardiac, Oncology, Neonatal Intensive Care, Adult & Youth Mental Health, and has been recently designated as a Level III Trauma Centre. We also serve our local community for emergency care services that sees approximately 90,000 unique patient visits per year. RVH is undergoing significant growth, including a capital plan that will see the current North Campus on Georgian Drive double in size over the next ten years, while developing the new South Campus in Innisfil. Professional Development and Education Funding As a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) you will function interdependently and collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team, that includes but not limited to: Physicians, Registered Nurses, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Geriatric Registered Nurses, Patient Care Assistants, and Phlebotomists. As the RPN you assess the needs of adult and pediatric patients requiring care in the Emergency Department, while ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. You are a professional caregiver who is responsible and accountable for providing quality patient care within a delivery model in accordance with the philosophy, policies and standards of care of RVH, the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and all relevant legislation. As a qualified candidate you will need have the following job requirements: Registered Practical Nursing diploma or equivalent education to practice at full scope. Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario. Current BCLS. Coronary Care 1 (CC1) (obtained within six (6) Months of hire. Two (2) years’ experience in emergency or acute medical/surgical nursing preferred. Sound knowledge of nursing process and responsibilities of profession. Membership in professional association specific to nursing service area. Functions independently within scope of practice and three factor framework as outlined by the CNO. You will be an ideal candidate for this position if you have: Sound problem solving, communications (oral and written), conflict resolution and decision-making skills. Excellent organizational skills. Demonstrated commitment to the professional growth and development of self and others. Demonstrated commitment to the concepts of Continuous Quality Improvement and Customer Service. Ability to learn about, from and with other members of the patient care team to foster a strong interprofessional model of care.

Requirements
