Job summary

About the Company Our client, a well-established and respected law firm, is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join its Family Law team. Responsibilities Prepare, revise, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and court materials. Draft and manage family law documentation in accordance with the Ontario Family Law Rules and court filing requirements. Coordinate electronic and physical court filings while ensuring all deadlines are met. Manage lawyers' calendars, schedule appointments, meetings, mediations, and conferences. Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and other stakeholders. Prepare monthly pre-bills and assist with billing administration. Open new client files and maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems. Process expense reports, courier requests, and other administrative documentation. Scan, photocopy, bind, and organize legal materials for distribution. Coordinate travel arrangements and reservations as required. Maintain file integrity by organizing, archiving, and managing active and inactive files. Assist with special projects and provide additional administrative support as needed. Requirements Legal Assistant, Law Clerk, or Paralegal diploma or certificate from an accredited institution. 5+ years of experience supporting a Family Law practice in a law firm. Strong knowledge of Ontario Family Law Rules and court filing procedures. Experience preparing both routine and complex family law documents. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, DivorceMate, and ACL. Experience with billing administration and pre-bills, preferably using 3E. Excellent transcription, proofreading, and document formatting skills. Experience with document management systems is considered an asset. Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a client-focused approach. Compensation Salary up to $75,000, commensurate with experience. Hybrid work arrangement (2 days in office).
