Reporting to the Service Manager, this position is responsible for diagnosing problems and making repairs to all types of trucks, buses, trailers, and other automotive vehicles. We are looking for a Licensed Lead Hand 310T Diesel Mechanics/Technician for our Oshawa dealership located at 787 Bloor St. W.Oshawa, ON L4T 1G9. This is a full-time permanent position. As Lead Hand Technician, your main responsibilities will be providing both technical and administrative support, spot-checking repairs to assure quality and timely completion, and reviewing work orders for accuracy. Responsibilities Ensure compliance of all Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) regulations, as well as the Company’s Health and Safety Policy. Providing both technical and administrative support to technicians during the day-to-day business operations. Maintains service quality and assisting, when possible, on jobs (on shop floor). Strives for harmony with all departments with a strong focus on teamwork and exceptional customer service. Maintains contact with service customers on a timely basis and in a professional manner. Communicates with the Service Advisor on a timely basis, to schedule shop work efficiently and check on job status as often as necessary. Motivates, counsels and monitors the performance of technicians. Ensures that technicians follow warranty material disposition procedures. Prepares repair estimates when required. Reviews technicians’ repair orders to ensure all information is complete and accurate before the next job is assigned to each technician. Keeps up to date with the most current information, through training and service letters on technological advances. Expected to have a positive attitude and promote a healthy work environment Other related duties as requested.
