AI Engineer

Client: Citi Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada – Hybrid Employment Type: Full-Time Experience: 7+ Years Application Deadline: September 25, 2026 Role Overview We are seeking an experienced AI Engineer with 7+ years of experience in software and AI engineering to design, develop, and deploy AI/ML solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong Python programming skills, hands-on experience with machine learning and data processing, and a solid understanding of modern software engineering practices. Experience with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) is preferred. The successful candidate should also be comfortable working with APIs, cloud platforms, AI/ML frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Agile development methodologies. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and deploy AI/ML solutions to support business and technical requirements. Develop scalable and maintainable software solutions using Python. Apply machine learning, deep learning, and data-processing techniques to real-world problems. Develop and integrate AI/ML models and supporting applications. Work with APIs and cloud-based platforms to deploy and integrate AI solutions. Explore and contribute to Generative AI and LLM-based solutions where applicable. Collaborate with software engineers, data professionals, and cross-functional stakeholders. Follow software development best practices, coding standards, and engineering methodologies. Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for AI and software applications. Use Git and modern source-control practices throughout the development lifecycle. Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, development, testing, and continuous improvement activities. Troubleshoot technical issues and optimize AI/ML solutions for performance, reliability, and scalability. Conduct research and evaluate emerging AI technologies and frameworks. Required Skills & Experience 7+ years of experience in software engineering and/or AI engineering. Strong hands-on programming experience with Python. Proven experience developing and deploying AI/ML solutions. Strong knowledge of: Machine Learning Deep Learning Data Processing Experience working with APIs and cloud platforms. Experience with modern AI/ML frameworks and tools. Strong understanding of software development and engineering best practices. Experience with: CI/CD Git Agile methodologies Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Skills Hands-on experience with Generative AI. Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs). Knowledge of modern AI application development and deployment practices. Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into enterprise software applications.
