Python Developer

Client: Citi Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada – Hybrid Employment Type: Full-Time Experience: 8+ Years Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Python Developer with 8+ years of hands-on experience in Python development. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python programming, object-oriented development, REST APIs, microservices, SQL, and relational databases. Experience with modern Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI is required. Knowledge of cloud platforms, CI/CD, Git, and Agile/Scrum methodologies is preferred. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable applications using Python. Develop robust and maintainable solutions using object-oriented programming principles. Build and integrate REST APIs and microservices. Develop applications using Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI. Work with SQL and relational databases to design, query, and optimize data solutions. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application and technical issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver software solutions. Follow software development best practices, coding standards, and design principles. Use Git for source code management and version control. Participate in Agile/Scrum development activities, including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives. Support CI/CD processes and application deployments. Work with cloud platforms and modern development tools as required. Perform code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement of applications. Required Skills & Experience 8+ years of experience in Python development. Strong expertise in Python programming. Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP). Hands-on experience with one or more Python frameworks: Django Flask FastAPI Strong experience developing REST APIs. Hands-on experience with microservices architecture. Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases. Experience with software development, testing, and debugging. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
