The successful candidate will provide strong technical leadership across application architecture, cloud technologies, containerization, orchestration, microservices, application development, CI/CD, security, privacy, and deployment. The role requires experience working closely with development teams, architects, Business Analysts, infrastructure teams, security architects, and privacy SMEs. Experience with healthcare data exchange standards, particularly FHIR, and technologies such as JavaScript ES6+, Spring Framework, Quarkus, Angular 9+, Angular Material, TypeScript, Node.js, HTML5, and CSS3 is highly valued. Key Responsibilities Solution Design & Technical Leadership Lead and coordinate the design, development, enhancement, and implementation of complex, large-scale, high-profile, and high-risk technology solutions. Provide technical leadership throughout the solution development lifecycle. Lead development teams in defining application software, hardware, network, and technical requirements. Develop and provide input into overall solution objectives and technical strategies. Translate business requirements and functional specifications into application designs that meet business, operational, and IT requirements. Produce detailed low-level design and development artifacts sufficient for developers to code and test solutions. Work collaboratively with architecture teams to create required architectural artifacts. Ensure solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements and comply with applicable standards. Application Architecture & Development Design and oversee the development of application solutions using modern technologies and architectural patterns. Work with architects to maintain consistent object models, data models, interface models, and application models. Apply best practices for application design, development, build, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Support application development using technologies including: JavaScript ES6+ TypeScript Angular 9+ Angular Material Node.js Spring Framework Quarkus HTML5 CSS3 Oversee the development and implementation of approved solutions, including design, testing, installation, deployment, and monitoring. Conduct performance tuning and recommend solutions to improve application performance and scalability. Cloud, Containerization & Microservices Design and implement solutions utilizing cloud-based technologies. Apply experience with containerization, orchestration, and microservices architectures. Support modern cloud-native application design and deployment. Work with infrastructure, operational, deployment, and technical teams to define the physical deployment of applications. Ensure application architecture supports scalability, reliability, maintainability, and operational requirements. Healthcare Data & Integration Apply working knowledge of healthcare data exchange standards, particularly Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR). Support the design of solutions requiring healthcare data integration and interoperability. Ensure data and application designs align with applicable healthcare privacy, security, and information-management requirements. Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to define appropriate data, interface, and integration models. DevOps, CI/CD & Deployment Support automated build processes within development environments. Design and support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes. Work with VSTS/Azure DevOps and Agile software development practices. Coordinate with infrastructure and operational teams to ensure successful application deployment. Support installation, monitoring, implementation, and post-deployment activities. Identify opportunities to improve development, deployment, and operational processes. Security, Privacy & Compliance Work closely with security architects and privacy SMEs throughout the solution design process. Ensure application architecture and physical deployment meet required security levels. Ensure solutions comply with applicable data privacy standards and requirements. Apply privacy and security considerations throughout software design and development, particularly within healthcare or similarly regulated environments. Promote secure application design and support security-related technical requirements. Architecture Governance & Standards Promote OPS I&IT standards and best practices for planning, design, architecture, development, and deployment. Ensure solutions adhere to GO-ITS standards and internal branch standards. Contribute to architecture governance activities and technical standards. Participate in governance and architecture working groups. Analyze, recommend, document, and implement architecture, operational, SDLC, and information architecture best practices. Maintain awareness of emerging IT trends, technologies, and opportunities relevant to the client. Stakeholder Collaboration & Project Support Collaborate with Business Analysts to understand requirements and develop appropriate technical solutions. Work with architects, developers, infrastructure teams, operational teams, security specialists, privacy SMEs, and other stakeholders. Monitor progress, resolve technical issues, and report regularly to business and I&IT management decision-makers. Provide technical consultation and guidance to development and project teams. Support issues and risk management activities. Build strong working relationships across technical and business stakeholder groups. Documentation & Knowledge Transfer Develop and maintain technical design documents, architecture artifacts, application models, and low-level design specifications. Prepare documentation required for application implementation, deployment, and support. Maintain appropriate technical documentation throughout the solution lifecycle. Provide knowledge transfer and technical guidance to team members and stakeholders. Utilize Microsoft Office, Visio, and SharePoint for technical documentation and collaboration. Required Skills & Experience Technical Skills – 45 Points Demonstrated experience as a Technical Design Specialist / Solutions Designer coordinating the design, development, and enhancement of complex, large-scale, high-profile, high-risk technology solutions. Experience utilizing cloud-based technologies, including containerization, orchestration, and microservices. Proven ability to lead development teams in defining and designing application software, hardware, and network requirements. Working knowledge of healthcare data exchange standards, particularly FHIR. Experience overseeing solution development and implementation, including design, testing, installation, deployment, and monitoring.
