Job summary
Our client is a leader in luxury decorative plumbing, bath, hardware, and lighting, with showrooms serving high-end custom residential projects across the Lower Mainland, Whistler, Vancouver Island, and the Okanagan. Their team is trusted by the region's top designers and builders for exclusive European brands, deep technical expertise (from rough-in to trim), and white-glove project execution -- all showcased in one of North America's largest design showrooms. They are adding a Product Design Consultant to meet strong demand, grow designer/contractor relationships, and expand capacity in their newly-debuted showroom in Victoria. You'll start in-showroom to master the technical product set, then progress into dynamic account development with assigned designers and contractors across Vancouver Island. What you will do: Act as a technical/consultative guide for designers, contractors, builders, and homeowners; influence specifications for luxury residential projects. Qualify projects (stakeholders, scope, budgets, timelines) and manage the full sales cycle: quoting/specs, order entry, vendor coordination, lead-time tracking, delivery scheduling, and aftercare (warranties/returns/alternates). Drive proactive follow-ups to secure orders and nurture repeat business; transition to outbound account development (education, lunch-and-learns, showroom events). Coordinate closely with purchasing, warehouse, and project teams to hit site dates (staged rough-in → finish). Maintain accurate CRM/quoting data and deliver reliable order/quote accuracy. Location: In-office showroom in downtown Victoria M/W/F 9am - 5pm, Tu/Th 8am team meetings. Occasional site/client visits. What you bring: Background in luxury finishes or technical design products (plumbing, tile/stone, cabinetry, lighting, premium hardware, or similar). Proven consultative selling with designers/contractors; comfortable influencing spec decisions and navigating substitutions. High detail orientation (complex quotes, finish schedules, rough-in/trim sequencing); strong follow-through. Technical curiosity and readiness to learn during ramp (hundreds of SKUs/finishes; CSA nuances for European imports). Relationship-first; willing to do tasteful outbound (education-focused) to win future specs. What they offer: Compensation: Guaranteed base salary of $70K - $85K for ~2 years of ramp, after which you move to a strong commissions-with-draw plan. Commissions could be earned during this time as well. Earning potential: Average to high performers see anywhere from $120K - $250K+ in total compensation, with top books of $2M+ in annual sales. Benefits: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage; vendor product-knowledge training; generous support from leadership during ramp with time to become confident before moving to lucrative earning structure. Environment & perks: A leading North American luxury showroom for hosting clients and lunch and learns; exclusive European brands not found anywhere else in the region; premium industry events (awards, designer gatherings, client appreciation); highly collaborative sales, purchasing, warehouse, and PM support. Interested candidates, please note: Our team checks for new applicants every day and while we would love to be able to engage with each of you personally, given the high volume of applicants we receive, we are only able to contact candidates who are best suited for this role.
