Position Summary Reporting to the Operations/Construction Manager, the Architectural Technologist will be responsible for the development and preparation of architectural concepts, designs and drawings using software such as AutoCAD or Sketchup and ensuring that design drawings conform to specifications, building code, bylaws, and design guidelines. Job Duties Develop and prepare residential single family and multi-family architectural designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, calculations, specification sheets and other data Operate computer-assisted design (CAD) and drafting workstations Develop and prepare design sketches, 2D and 3D Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design guidelines and bylaws Liaise with engineers, consultants and trade partners to obtain required details and documents for permit applications Ensure project schedules are kept up-to-date and followed from the purchase agreement until permits are received Submit all permit applications and prepare permit packages for the site Review and administer all architectural approvals for residential projects Provide technical support to the field as required Other duties as assigned Requirements College diploma or University degree in architectural design and drafting technology, or a related field Post-secondary diploma / degree in drafting Five years of AutoCAD experience including standardized drafting practices Five years of residential architectural experience Must have the ability to partner with internal and external customers Work Conditions 40 hours/week Mon-Fri 8:00-5:00pm Ability to attend and conduct presentations Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals Overtime as required Use of PPE, including safety glasses and steel toe boots as required Hazards associated with the construction industry We thank you for your interest, but only those selected for an interview will be contacted
