The Village of Miller Creek located in Ajax, Ontario has an exciting opportunity for a Contracted Music Therapist to join our team. • Status: Part-Time • Location: 1401 Harwood Ave N Ajax, ON L1T 4T9 • Expected Start Date: Fall 2026 Hours: 65 hours / month As a Music Therapist you will work as an independent contractor for Schlegel Villages you will support residents as needed and reflective of their care plans: * The Music Therapist will have a degree in Music Therapy from an accredited institution and be eligible for Accreditation with The Canadian Association of Music Therapists. * Plan, review and assessing therapy sessions to monitor effectiveness and to aid the planning of subsequent sessions. * Take an active role in sessions by playing, singing, and listening. * Encourage residents to take part in the session, and supporting them by responding musically. * Help residents explore the world of sound and to create a musical language of their own. * Support the resident’s creative development and facilitating positive changes in their behavior and well-being. * Experience working with seniors is an asset.
