BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CARE ATTENDANT - CASUAL There are positions available for Before and After School Care Attendants - Casual with School District No. 60. Applications must be completed online and will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the positions are filled. . Please note that due to licensing requirements, only applicants 19 years of age or older can be considered for this position. Reporting to site Administrative Officer(s) and Before & After School Program Coordinator, this position is responsible for providing before and after school care to school aged children. Successful applicant may need to work at other locations as needed in Before & After School Care Attendant position. Hours of Work: As needed Duties to Commence: As soon as possible after closing on an as needed basis Work Base Year: 10 Months Commencing Salary: $24.40/hr. Duties To Be Assigned Include Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts. Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for activities and rest periods. Maintain toys and other applicable equipment and assist in housekeeping duties. Supplies support services related to the position, for example (photocopying, typing and filing). Uses a wide range of equipment including adaptive technology, argumentative communication devices, computer systems and software. May be required to attend specific workshops at the direction of the Supervisor. Performs other job related duties as directed by the Supervisor. Qualifications Grade 12 or equivalency Education Assistant or ECE college courses would be an asset One year training/experience working with school aged children is preferred Level 1 First Aid Certificate may be required Food Safe Certificate Ability to work independently and set priorities W.H.M.I.S.
