Position Summary:
Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the Technical Records Lead is responsible for the oversight, integrity, and compliance of all aircraft technical records across DHC’s portfolio throughout the full asset lifecycle (manufacture, acquisition, storage, maintenance, refurbishment, and remarketing). This role provides day to day leadership to Technical Records Analysts, Coordinators and Administrators, ensuring high quality execution of records management activities while driving consistency, process improvement, and regulatory compliance. The Technical Records Lead acts as a key liaison between internal departments, external service providers, and customers.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and coordinate the activities of Technical Records Analysts and Coordinators, ensuring workload alignment, quality, and performance.
- Establish clear priorities and provide guidance on complex technical records issues and discrepancies, as well as review team outputs and ensure adherence to regulatory, company, and customer standards.
- Ensure aircraft technical records are accurate, complete, and compliant with regulatory, customer, and company requirements and carried out within budgeted timelines.
- Review and validate records including logbooks, work packages, component documentation, and aircraft compliance records.
- Support the resolution of records discrepancies in coordination with Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality teams.
- Maintain accuracy and integrity of data within the MRO tracking system, including aircraft utilization and maintenance records.
- Ensure proper document control, digital archiving, and traceability of records.
- Support implementation and use of systems such as Electronic Technical Logbooks (ETL) as applicable.
- Support and carry out records activities related to aircraft transactions, including pre-buy reviews, deliveries, returns, and lease transitions.
- Support internal and external audits, inspections, and lessor reviews by preparing required documentation and reports.
- Identify opportunities to improve records processes and support implementation of standardized practices.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external service providers to ensure timely and compliant records management.
- Perform any other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Qualifications:
- 5–7 years of experience in aircraft technical records, including demonstrated experience providing guidance or oversight to others.
- Strong understanding of applicable airworthiness regulations, quality systems, and aircraft maintenance practices.
- Proven experience reviewing and auditing technical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
- Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft technical records, including logbooks, component documentation, and maintenance records.
- Working knowledge of aircraft maintenance control systems and MRO tracking software (CAMP, IFS considered an asset).
- Familiarity with certification, regulatory, and jurisdictional requirements related to Dash 8 aircraft, MRO environments, and operators is an asset. (Experience with Water bombers and Twin otters an asset).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
