Purpose:
Royal Drugs Calgary is a sterile compounding facility, providing care to patients who require at home infusion therapy. Royal Drugs is Canada’s leader in the provision of products and services that safely and reliably support community-based infusion therapy, advanced wound care, and the need for general medical supplies.
We are a community partner and licensed pharmacy, providing expert solutions and support resources to healthcare professionals, hospitals, patients, caregivers, and home care programs across the country. We work with multiple health authorities across the province, enabling patients to receive infusion care at home. SCHEDULE:

37.5 hours per week (5 days/week)

Shifts are 6:00am-2:00pm, 8:30am,-430pm and 10:30am-6:30pm on a rotational basis. No statutory holidays.

Available to work on weekends if needed and part of the on-call after-hours team (on a rotational basis)

Must be flexible to adapt to possible changes in work schedule in future based on business needs, potentially including evenings and weekends

Job Responsibilities:
The Pharmacist is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient provision of pharmaceutical services in accordance with corporate policies, professional standards, and provincial and federal regulations. This role includes dispensing, clinical review, patient counseling, sterile compounding, and supervision of pharmacy operations. The Pharmacist plays a key leadership role in ensuring workflow efficiency, staff development, quality assurance, and patient safety while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Professional Practice & Clinical Care

Review, verify, and dispense prescriptions in compliance with legal, professional, and corporate standards.

Perform clinical reviews of compounded and non-compounded medications, including TPNs and infusion therapies where applicable.

Provide patient counseling, pharmaceutical care, medication reviews, professional opinions, and appropriate clinical documentation.

Collaborate with prescribers, clinicians, care coordinators, and other healthcare professionals to resolve prescription-related issues.

Conduct complex pharmaceutical calculations related to medication formulation and compounding.
-
Maintain specialized knowledge of drug therapy, medication compatibility, stability, interactions, and all routes of administration.
Pharmacy Operations & Quality Assurance

Coordinate and prioritize daily pharmacy activities to ensure efficient workflow and timely service delivery.
-
Ensure compliance with provincial and federal legislation, Ontario College of Pharmacists standards, and internal SOPs.

Ensure accuracy of prescriptions dispensed, third-party billing, and pharmacy documentation.

Utilize pharmaceutical literature and SOPs to support professional judgment in compounding and dispensing.

Maintain proficiency in pharmacy computer systems (e.g., Kroll).
-
Participate in clinical, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Adhere to Royal Drugs patient safety policies and procedures.

Other duties as assigned by the management team.
Qualifications:
-
Undergraduate university degree in Pharmacy.
-
Licensed and in good standing with the Alberta College of Pharmacy.

Minimum 1 year of pharmacist experience preferred.
-
Experience with sterile compounding and infusion services is an asset.

Experience with Kroll pharmacy software is an asset.
