About the role
Job Description
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for supporting the Canadian Supply Chain team through category analysis and projects for both the Managed Services and the Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) businesses. This includes analytics that will help drive value with suppliers, promote efficiency and data driven decisions for major supplier and process improvement initiatives. This role also requires the ability to manage tactical day to day needs with a keen eye to detail, always looking for opportunities for improvements and using collaboration skills to lead and influence across teams.
The Supply Chain Manager should maintain a solid understanding of the Managed Services and Group Purchasing Organization landscape. Strong inter- departmental communication skills are essential to build relationships and collaborate on projects and drive business changes. Prior experience in a supply chain analytical role in food service, retail or CPG industries is preferred. This position is based at our head office in Mississauga but is currently hybrid.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage analytics requirements from the Procurement team in the CPG, Commodities and Non-Food categories
- Provide insights, suggestions and guidance on interpretation and application for the information provided to teams
- Oversee the annual productivity plan, understand the scope of initiatives, enrichment opportunity and status to ensure ongoing visibility to achievement to plan
- Report back on productivity plan for the various internal stakeholders in Canada and the US
- Review the financial enrichment calculations for contracts and provide sign off on integrity/accuracy of data
- Challenge and identify opportunities for improvements in areas of responsibility to improve analytics and processes and execute those changes within the immediate and larger teams
- Lead the creation of ad hoc and regular reports, dashboards or scorecards to demonstrate value to suppliers and clients
- Manage quarterly reporting of inflation, assessment of market drivers and understanding of CPI to support client level reviews for both GPO and Managed Services
- Partner with cross-functional teams in Canada and the US and build relationships to collaborate on initiatives
- Coach and develop direct reports to build competency, drive performance and maintain engagement
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or College diploma - Engineering, Business or Supply Chain or related field
- 5-7 years’ experience in Supply Chain in food service, retail, CPG or distribution industries
- Strong strategic planning and coordination skills
- The ability to apply an effective decision-making process, including both financial and non-financial criteria
- A proven record of continued and sustainable success and increased responsibility
