Your Opportunity at SECURE As Facility Operator, you are responsible for the day-to-day safe and customer service-oriented operations of waste treatment, oil treatment, and water injection. You actively assist with standard operating procedures, hazard assessments, safety programs, and environmental protection, while maintaining regular communication with customers. Given the high level of customer interaction, strong communication skills and a commitment to exceptional service are essential. This position is based at our Obed facility, approximately 30 km east of Hinton, AB. The Team The team at our Obed facility takes pride in working safely, supporting one another, and providing reliable service to our customers. Team members work together in a fast-paced environment and are committed to living SECURE's values every day. Work Environment This position consists of 12-hour shifts on a 7-on / 7-off schedule, rotating between days and nights. A Day in The Life Responsible and accountable for the day-to-day operations of the facility Responsible for truck unloading, oil emulsion and water & vac trucks Perform oil treating activities using treaters, coolers, and tank treating systems. Participating in waste processing, waste and mud tank operation, shaker & centrifuge operations and solids treating Responsible and accountable for the receipt, terminal storage and transportation of crude oil while adhering to Measurement & Crude Oil Quality compliance Managing ongoing water injection, filter changing and pump maintenance Conducting treatment of solids on the waste pad Conducting boiler operations, testing and steam system operations Ensuring that all corporate compliance programs are adhered to Submitting truck tickets summary, daily plant checklists, and balance and transfers to the office Participates in the Health & Safety Management System (HSMS) Waste plant operation (ensuring solids processing is meeting or exceeding landfill criteria and solids testing) Following water injection SOP’s and best practices to protect the disposal well integrity General maintenance, ensure that the plant is kept clean and safe Skills, Experience & Qualifications A High School Diploma, General Education Diploma or equivalent Experience in waste processing, oil treating and water injection is considered an asset Training in boilers, pumps, repairs, shakers/centrifuges and loaders is considered an asset Current and valid safety tickets, including H2S Alive, First Aid Level One C, Confined Space Entry, WHMIS and TDG Strong attention to detail and communication skills, with the ability to work long hours in a mentally and physically demanding environment Ability to document work, manage cross-shift communication and ensure clear communication with the rest of the team Ability to multitask and demonstrate excellent decision-making skills, including the ability to troubleshoot issues Excellent customer service skills and a strong commitment to safe work practices A valid and acceptable driver’s licence and successful completion of pre-employment testing Ability to manage multiple priorities and demonstrate good time management skills What's in it for you At SECURE, we focus on opportunities for growth and improvement; for our employees, our customers, our partners, and the communities we operate in.
