Your Opportunity at SECURE Summer positions will run May-August 2027. Co-op and Internship positions may extend beyond the summer term depending on the requirements of the academic program and the business. These terms may be 4, 8, 12, or 16 months in length. Your Opportunity at SECURE Join SECURE’s Specialty Chemicals – Surface Rentals team as a Shop Student and gain hands-on experience supporting the preparation, maintenance, and organization of equipment used in our operations. This role is designed to provide additional support during peak season by helping maintain equipment readiness and availability, allowing experienced team members to focus on higher-skilled work and customer needs. You will have the opportunity to build practical skills in an active shop environment while gaining exposure to the day-to-day operations of an industrial services business. This role is based in Leduc, Alberta The Team You will work as part of a hands-on shop and yard team where collaboration, reliability, and a willingness to learn are important. The successful student will work alongside experienced team members and contribute to the team’s ability to keep equipment ready and available for customers. This is an opportunity to learn from experienced employees, ask questions, build practical skills, and contribute meaningfully to the team’s operational goals. Work Environment This is an active, hands-on shop environment. The role involves working with tools and equipment and may include physical work and outdoor conditions. The successful candidate should be comfortable working in a practical, industrial environment and be prepared to work safely and responsibly around equipment. Reliable transportation to the Leduc shop is required. A Day in The Life Supporting summer fleet and equipment readiness activities. Assisting with basic equipment maintenance and inspections. Completing equipment checks and supporting preparation for upcoming work. Assisting with asset and inventory verification. Supporting organization of the shop and yard. Helping ensure equipment and materials are available when required. Supporting the team with general shop activities and other operational tasks as required. Skills, Experience & Qualifications We are looking for a student who is dependable, willing to learn, and comfortable working in a hands-on environment. Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program related to Engineering, Manufacturing, Trades, or a similar technical discipline. Interest in equipment, maintenance, mechanical work, or industrial operations. Comfortable working with tools and performing hands-on tasks. Strong attention to detail, particularly when completing equipment checks and inventory activities. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Reliable, responsible, and willing to take direction while working independently when required. Strong commitment to workplace safety. Ability to work in a shop and outdoor environment.
