Requirements 1 year of security experience, w/ preferably in a Mall/Retail, in-house loss prevention, Gov't environment, and/or a diploma in the field of security or law enforcement Education background in law enforcement, such as Police Foundation/Criminology/Protection Security and Investigation is an asset. Valid Ontario Security License & Valid Standard First Aid & Level C CPR with AED Comfort with two-way radio communication/dispatch and/or CCTV software Approaches a situation with a listening mindset and empathy Capable of standing and walking for a duration of up to 8/10/12 hours Ability to problem solve, effective with crowd management and use discretion and good judgment Use of force training and/or Military/Law Enforcement background is an asset. Shares and adheres to our values - REACH (Respect, Empathy, Accountability, Courtesy and Honesty) Punctuality & Able to stand/patrol up for up to 12 hours. Strong ability to prepare professional daily and/or incident security reports. Knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act (TPA), Canada Criminal Code, and 494(c) Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills Ability to conduct arrests within appropriate and sanctioned situations.
