This role must be part of the United Steelworkers UNION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the District Installation Manager, the Security System Technician will be responsible for installing, configuring and servicing all Card Access, Intrusion Monitoring, Fire Monitoring and CCTV systems for the clients of Securitas Technology The candidate will ensure optimum installation of new security systems to meet clients’ needs and provide proper utilization of these systems. This candidate will also provide service to existing systems which includes preventative maintenance, emergency maintenance as well as troubleshooting and repairs. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Performing product installations, reconfigurations, removals or relocations as required as well as site surveys as required * Providing technical and user support by directing and assisting clients in the operation of the products thereby assuring their most efficient use * Diligently completing all safety paperwork, marked up drawings and pictures. All work orders completed at the client’s site must contain serial numbers of equipment and must be signed by the client’s designated authority * Participating in training sessions as required by the company in order to maintain adequate levels of skills and knowledge * Updating the project manager on the status of installations. * Maintaining vehicle stock of all parts, supplies and equipment. Ensuring that all used stock is diligently recorded on work orders * Participating in the quarterly inventory counts of vehicles or warehouses as required REQUIREMENTS: * Excellent computer skills: A+ certification in progress or planned * Ability to diagnose problems quickly and correctly * Ability to work on 24 hour-on-call rotation (including weekends and holidays) * Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills * Proficient writing skills * Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record * BC Security License * This role must be part of the United Steelworkers UNION Benefits: * Full Benefits as of Day 1 * Retirement Plans as of Day 1 * Paid Short Term and Long Term Disability * Paid vacation, holiday * Educational Assistance * Company Training Program * Exceptional growth opportunities Securitas Electronic Security is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity
